Earning the in-game currency, and what it is for.
Droplets are Bloblokin's only currency. They are earned by playing, and they buy exactly two things: cosmetic themes, and uses of the battle items that are not free. Nothing is sold for real money, and nothing you can buy is out of reach of a player who simply plays: every handling setting, every mode and the 3 free items are available to everyone from the first game.
Droplets are server-granted. The client never mints them; it only displays the balance the server reports. That is also why a game played while the server is unreachable earns nothing at all: there is nobody to grant it.
Finish a game while connected and the server pays out on the result you report:
Game earnings are capped at 300 Droplets per day (a UTC day, on the server's clock) across everything you play. Losing still earns: a genuine top-out is worth the base payout, so there is no reason to quit a game you are behind in. Walking out of a game you are still alive in is the main case that earns nothing; a voided match pays nothing either, and neither does a game that ends before the 30-second floor.
Rewarded ads are the one optional extra. Watching one grants 50 Droplets, up to 5 times a day, with at least 3 minutes between grants. They are always your choice: the game is fully playable without ever watching one.
Themes repaint the whole game: the page, the Well, the blobs and the Sludge. They are purely cosmetic. 3 of them are free permanently, including the colorblind-safe Contrast palette: accessibility is never something you have to earn.
| Theme | Style | Price |
|---|---|---|

Items only exist in the two item modes; see Mayhem & Loadout for how each works, and the item reference for what every item does. How they are paid for differs sharply between the two:
3 items are free forever and never consume anything: Quake, Dissolve and Shield, one offensive, one board-clearing and one defensive, so a player who has never spent a Droplet still fields a complete arsenal.
Droplets leave your balance when you buy a use in the Store, not when you play. What happens at the end of a match is that the uses which actually fired are deducted from your stock, so picking an item and never firing it leaves that use in your inventory for the next match rather than wasting it. And offline Loadout is entirely free: the offline picker reads a separate local selection that is not gated by ownership, so you can practise with any item combination against a bot without spending anything. Only online Loadout draws on your stock.
There is no way to buy Droplets, themes or item uses with real money; the game is funded by advertising instead. Droplets cannot be transferred between accounts or cashed out, and they have no real-world monetary value; the Terms of Service set out exactly what holding them does and does not give you. Prices and earn rates may be rebalanced as the game is tuned.
